Job Summary

Fraser Health is seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as a Sterile Processing Technician. This role is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and sterility of medical equipment and supplies in the Operating Room.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean, decontaminate, assemble, sterilize, and store medical equipment and supplies in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Disassemble, wash, clean, and reassemble anaesthetic equipment according to established procedures.
  • Pick and transport surgical supplies and equipment to the Operating Room as required.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of sterilizers, sterile core, and instrument room.
  • Distribute medical equipment and supplies according to established procedures.
  • Participate in the Departmental Quality Assurance Program by performing routine maintenance on departmental equipment.
  • Transport specimens and patients as required.
  • Perform clerical duties such as recording workload statistics and maintaining records.
Requirements
  • Grade 12 diploma and completion of a Sterile Supply Processing Program.
  • One year of recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of surgical and medical terminology.
  • Mathematical aptitude.
  • Effective communication and organizational skills.
