Position Overview:
The Maintenance and Engineering Manager will be an integral member of the Plant Leadership Team, reporting directly to the Plant Manager. Collaborating closely with peers such as the Production Manager, Quality Manager, and Warehouse & Logistics Manager, this role is pivotal in managing the maintenance and engineering department.
The responsibilities include:
- Ensuring the maintenance of safe working conditions and continuous improvement of plant and infrastructure.
- Facilitating business continuity through a comprehensive Site Risk Reduction program.
- Minimizing environmental impact associated with the process plant and infrastructure.
- Supporting initiatives to reduce energy consumption through enhanced equipment performance.
- Developing and mentoring the engineering team to align with the World Class Manufacturing (WCM) program.
- Implementing a structured WCM approach to maintenance, leveraging opportunities to enhance plant reliability.
- Owning and managing plant reliability KPIs, analyzing time losses, and proposing improvement activities.
- Leading the Planned Maintenance (PM) and Equipment Efficiency Management (EEM) Pillars while actively participating in Autonomous Maintenance (AM) initiatives.
- Conducting safety audits, risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with required standards.
- Overseeing maintenance budgets and managing capital projects with support from local and central engineering teams.
- Delivering capital expenditure (capex) requirements on time and within budget.
What You Bring...
- A Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience in a unionized manufacturing environment.
- 3-8 years of experience in manufacturing maintenance with a focus on leadership.
- Proven ability to build effective teams and direct business strategies.
- Strong leadership skills with the capacity to motivate personnel at all levels.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Solid understanding of business and engineering principles relevant to manufacturing.
- Knowledge of financial and analytical issues, including costs and budgets.
- Experience in formulating and communicating long-term strategic goals.
- Proven track record in leading sustainable cultural change.
- Highly motivated and self-driven.
