The Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Facility Program Assistant in childminding at the City of Red Deer. As a key member of our Recreation Section, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of high-quality childcare programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional customer service to children, parents, and staff.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy environment for children, adhering to all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the childminding area, promoting a positive and engaging atmosphere.
  • Support the planning and implementation of childcare programs, working collaboratively with colleagues to achieve program goals.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with children, parents, and staff, fostering a sense of community and belonging.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge in early childhood education and care.

Requirements:

  • Grade 10 or equivalent.
  • Early Childhood Level 1 Certification.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated high level of verbal, written, and listening skills.
  • Intermediate First Aid Certificate.
  • Commitment to the City's Cornerstone Values.

Affiliation:

Canadian Union of Public Employees, Local 417

Remuneration:

$20.34 to $21.54 per hour.

Hours of Work:

Hours of work as scheduled with no minimum guarantee. Availability required for evenings, weekends, weekdays, early mornings, and potential split shifts as business needs require.
