Job Summary

We are seeking a seasoned professional to join our dynamic team at IBM TechXchange as a Senior Technology Advocate. This role is designed for individuals who are eager to leverage their enthusiasm for technology to advance user advocacy, fostering awareness of our programs and working alongside a multidisciplined team serving a wide community of IBM technologists.

Key Responsibilities

  • Community Building: Foster a thriving user group community through strategic events such as meetups, conferences, and webinars.
  • Leadership & Advocacy: Empower and support user group leaders, ensuring they have the resources and guidance needed to succeed.
  • Content & Communication: Partner with the User Advocacy Program Evangelist to craft compelling content that showcases the success of user groups and drives excitement for upcoming events, keeping the community engaged and inspired.
  • Expansion & Outreach: Develop and implement strategies to expand the reach and impact of user groups, identifying new opportunities for growth and collaboration.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise:

  • Experience: Prior experience in an advocacy role (client advocate, developer relations, user advocacy, program evangelist, community manager) within technology.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and inspire, with experience in managing and growing communities.
  • Communication: Exceptional communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with diverse audiences, including senior executives.
  • Project Management: Strong project management abilities, with a disciplined approach to achieving goals.

  • Industry Expertise: Strong understanding of the technology industry and its trends, with a focus on emerging technologies and innovations.
