Job Summary

Actionmarguerite is seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team. As an Occupational Therapist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to our clients, conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and implementing interventions to promote independence and well-being.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' physical, cognitive, and emotional abilities to identify areas of need and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans that promote independence, mobility, and functional ability, using a variety of techniques and modalities.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and coordination of services.
  • Provide education and training to clients and their families on adaptive techniques, assistive devices, and other relevant topics.
  • Conduct regular progress assessments and adjust treatment plans as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of client progress and treatment plans.

Requirements

  • Current active registration and licensure with the College of Occupational Therapists of Manitoba.
  • Experience in extended care rehabilitation and assistive devices.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Ability to communicate in both official languages (French and English) is required.
  • Meets physical and mental health requirements of the position.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload.
  • Ability to recognize and pursue self-development opportunities.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to respond to a variety of simultaneous demands.
  • Ability to operate information technology equipment as required.
  • Ability to work as a team member.
  • Ability to demonstrate a satisfactory employment record, including attendance.
  • Current Criminal Record Check for the Vulnerable sector and Adult Abuse Registry Check deemed satisfactory by the Employer.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Workplace Health and Safety and safe work practices.
  • W.H.M.I.S. program.

Working Conditions

This position is designated bilingual (French/English). All staff are hired for the facility. Employees may hold more than one position in different Actionmarguerite facilities, where the sum total of hours does not exceed 1.0 full-time equivalence.
