About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Materials Integrity Engineer to join our team at Imperial Oil. As a key member of our Upstream Technical Department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity of our piping and equipment systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review critical process data to determine effects on equipment and piping
  • Develop mitigation plans to minimize corrosion and recommend compatible cost-effective materials
  • Manage or create corrosion control programs to ensure compliance with industry standards
  • Collaborate with materials experts to assess novel materials for viability
  • Identify degradation modes and materials parameters for use in risk assessments and RBI equipment strategy development
  • Estimate probability of failure for various degradation modes based on historic inspection data and industry guides
  • Review erosion and corrosion rates to recommend follow-up actions
  • Identify equipment operating envelope requirements to minimize corrosion
  • Review site changes and assess impacts on materials degradation and inspection
  • Establish piping circuits and assign EDDs to the circuits
  • Review current TMLs and optimize locations and inspection frequency
Requirements
  • Currently pursuing a BSc or MSc in Engineering
  • Enrolled in an engineering program from an accredited university in Canada
  • Role best suited for Mechanical or Materials programs
  • Proficiency with Power BI and exposure to Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint is highly desirable
  • Strong Communications, interpersonal, and issues resolution skills
  • Strong planning, organizational, and decision-making skills
