About the Role

This position is a permanent full-time role, requiring 75 hours of work bi-weekly. It will also create a 12-month eligibility list for similar roles.

Key Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Director of Compensation and Benefit Programs, the Compensation and Benefits Analyst will conduct research, analysis, costing, and support for various compensation and benefit plans and programs within the Yukon government. Responsibilities include:

  • Participating in the annual benefits renewal process.
  • Assisting in collective bargaining negotiations.
  • Conducting research and reviewing management conditions of employment.
  • Administering and supporting the pension plan for territorial court judges.
  • Developing communication materials for employees regarding changes in compensation or benefit programs.
  • Engaging in interjurisdictional surveys and analyzing relevant data.
  • Supporting the administration of the annual performance development program for management.
  • Addressing benefit-related inquiries from employees and retirees to ensure timely and accurate resolutions.

The analyst will also provide support to HR colleagues and the senior management team of the Public Service Commission.

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

  • Completion of post-secondary education in business administration, human resources, or a related field.
  • Experience in compensation, benefits, pensions, or a related area.
  • Proficiency in research, analysis, and reporting.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and Word).
  • Experience with HRIS systems (e.g., PeopleSoft) is an asset.
  • Certification as a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) or equivalent is a plus.

Candidates with equivalent education, training, and/or experience may also be considered.
