Your Role and Responsibilities

We're seeking a passionate technology advocate to join our dynamic team at IBM TechXchange. As a member of the IBM TechXchange User Advocacy team, you will be supporting our strategic User Groups. This position is designed for individuals who are eager to leverage their enthusiasm for technology to advance user advocacy, fostering awareness of our programs and working alongside a multidisciplined team serving a wide community of IBM technologists.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Community Building: Foster a thriving user group community through strategic events such as meetups, conferences, and webinars.
  2. Leadership & Advocacy: Empower and support user group leaders, ensuring they have the resources and guidance needed to succeed.
  3. Content & Communication: Partner with the User Advocacy Program Evangelist to craft compelling content that showcases the success of user groups and drives excitement for upcoming events, keeping the community engaged and inspired.
  4. Expansion & Outreach: Identify opportunities to expand our user group community and develop strategies to reach new audiences.

Requirements:

  1. Experience: Prior experience in an advocacy role (client advocate, developer relations, user advocacy, program evangelist, community manager) within technology.
  2. Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and inspire, with experience in managing and growing communities.
  3. Communication: Exceptional communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with diverse audiences, including senior executives.
  4. Project Management: Strong project management abilities, with a disciplined approach to achieving goals.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Industry Expertise: Strong understanding of the technology industry and its trends.
  2. Professional Network: Established connections within the tech community and advocacy domain.

Important Note: This role will involve working with technology that is covered by Export Regulations sanctions. If you are a Foreign National from any of the following US sanctioned countries (Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, and the Crimea, Luhansk, Donetsk, Kherson, and Zaporizhia regions of Ukraine) on a work permit, you are not eligible for employment in this position.
