Position Overview:
Reporting to the Project Team Lead, the Grader Operator plays a crucial role in supporting the Project Team Lead and General Foreman in achieving project objectives and daily operational goals. This position is safety-sensitive and requires successful completion of pre-employment and pre-access testing.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Safely operate and maintain the grader to meet operational deadlines.
  2. Coordinate machine movements and adhere to hand and audio signals from crew members.
  3. Conduct pre-trip, post-trip, and thorough inspections before equipment operation.
  4. Utilize the grader for terrain modification, site preparation, soil management, reclamation, and maintenance of haul roads.
  5. Operate the grader proficiently in close proximity to other vehicles and personnel.
  6. Perform routine maintenance and report any equipment issues.
  7. Comply with all company policies and procedures, wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), and conduct Field Level Hazard Assessments (FLRA) to manage work-related hazards.
  8. Assist laborers and other operators as necessary.
  9. Carry out additional construction tasks as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills:

  1. A High School Diploma or GED equivalent is mandatory.
  2. A valid class five (5) driver's license is essential.
  3. A 3-year Drivers Abstract is required.
  4. CSTS and OSSA or BSO or CSO certification is necessary.
  5. Ground Disturbance II certification is required; First Aid certification is an asset.
  6. A minimum of 3 years of grader operation experience in construction, particularly in Reclamation, Civil Earthworks, Mining, or Oil/Gas environments is preferred.
  7. Strong focus and attention to detail are essential.
  8. Effective time management skills are required.
  9. Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English is necessary.

This temporary position is located at a remote site. The work schedule consists of 14 days on followed by 7 days off, with shifts lasting 11.5 hours.
