Grader Operator Job Description

Morgan Construction and Environmental (Ltd.) is seeking a skilled Grader Operator to join our team. As a Grader Operator, you will play a crucial role in the dynamic world of heavy civil construction.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate a Grader to grade haul roads and work with haul equipment.
  • Perform ripping, contouring, trimming slopes, and ditch cuts.
  • Level and spread gravel for dump trucks.
  • Assist ground personnel when required.
  • Conduct routine equipment inspections to ensure optimal functionality and safety.
  • Adhere to project specifications and guidelines to maintain quality standards.
  • Champion our safety culture by adhering to Morgan's Safe Work Procedures and PPE policies.
  • Exercise exceptional judgment and problem-solving skills.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and take ownership of tasks.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience operating a Grader, 14 and/or 16 H/M Series.
  • Experience as a Grader Operator in the heavy civil earthworks, construction, or oilfield maintenance services industry.
  • Proven experience working on ice road construction for snow clearing and placement for freezing in activities.
  • General road maintenance experience.

Requirements:

  • Must have (or be willing and able to obtain) CSTS-09/ OSSA Regional or BSO or CSO, Intermediate First Aid, H2S Alive, Ground Disturbance Level 2, Bear Awareness (in class).
  • Able to shovel out equipment tracks.
  • Must have (or be willing and able to obtain) CSTS-09/ OSSA Regional or BSO or CSO, Intermediate First Aid, H2S Alive, Bear Awareness (in class), H2S Alive or awareness.
  • Provide own steel-toed 6" lace-up boots (CSA Approved).
  • Able to repetitively and safely lift up to 50lbs.
  • Alcohol, Drug, and fit-to-work testing is a pre-employment requirement.

  • Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Handle noise and vibrations on the job.
  • Work up to 12 hours a day.
  • Work day or night shifts.
  • Work and live in remote areas on a rotational schedule with accommodation provided.
  • Fly-In/Fly-Out and Drive-In/Drive-Out Opportunities.
