Position Overview
The Pharmacy Operations Specialist supports the Pharmacy Manager in all facets of pharmacy functions. This role involves delivering tailored patient care based on insights gathered during consultations or review of patient files.
Key Responsibilities- Provide exceptional patient service and assist customers in locating products within the pharmacy.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with the Professional Services District Manager and other key stakeholders.
- Receive and process prescription orders and refill requests from patients, healthcare providers, or medical facilities.
- Ensure the accurate, efficient, and safe filling of prescriptions, adhering to established workflows, while providing counsel on pharmaceutical products to patients.
- Maintain proper storage conditions for all pharmaceutical items.
- Implement procedures in accordance with Walmart's standard operating practices.
- Operate all pharmacy equipment, including registers and computer systems, while safeguarding patient confidentiality and complying with regulatory standards.
- Facilitate access to all eligible patient services, such as medication reviews and injections, to address specific healthcare needs.
- Ensure the pharmacy remains open and functional during designated business hours.
- Collaborate with the Pharmacy Manager to execute business strategies aimed at achieving corporate objectives.
The following are the minimum qualifications required for this position:
- Age - Must be 16 years or older
- License - Valid Pharmacist License (with optional Additional Prescribing Authorization in Alberta)
