Aircraft Simulation Lead V&V Engineer

At Beta Technologies, we're pushing the boundaries of electric aviation. As our Aircraft Simulation Lead V&V Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in shaping the future of sustainable flight.
Your Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement simulation and engineering simulators for certification credit, ensuring seamless integration with our electric aviation projects.
- Lead the qualification effort for Flight Training Devices, driving innovation and excellence in simulation technology.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish simulator quality system processes and tools, ensuring efficient management of deficiency reports.
- Perform simulator verification and validation testing, guaranteeing the highest standards of quality and safety.
- Drive certification activities for Flight Training Devices, working closely with regulatory bodies to ensure compliance.
- Develop and maintain simulator qualification artifacts, including Qualification Test Plans/Procedures, Qualification Test Guides, and Acceptance Test Manuals.
- Work with simulation and aircraft systems engineering teams to develop an approach and utilization of simulation model validation & verification for autonomous vehicle certification.
- Interface with the National Simulator Program team for qualification of pilot training devices, fostering strong relationships and driving collaboration.
- Stay up-to-date with technical committees and industry guidance development on the use of simulation for certification credit of new and novel aircraft.
- 5+ years of experience in aircraft simulation/simulator development and qualification.
- Experience in drafting Qualification Test Plans/Procedures for aircraft.
- Thorough understanding of computer architecture applied to simulator frameworks.
- Competence in modern software development processes (i.e., Git, code reviews, testing, and continuous integration).
- Experience in pilot training syllabus development and approval process.
- Experience in Model Based Systems and Software Engineering.
- Experience with autonomous systems, human factors, controls systems, machine learning, or other fields expanding on this role in simulation.
- Experience programming in C++, C, Python, or other languages.
Ability to travel on a semi-regular basis to simulator development sites, including travel between Burlington, Vermont and Montreal, Quebec offices.
