About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Landscaping Supervisor to join our team at SEVEN M CONSTRUCTION LTD. As a key member of our grounds maintenance team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our landscape construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Hire, Supervise and Schedule Staff: Lead a team of landscape construction workers, ensuring they have the necessary skills and training to complete projects efficiently.
  • Plan and Direct Grounds Maintenance: Develop and implement effective grounds maintenance strategies to ensure our properties are well-maintained and visually appealing.
  • Plan, Manage and Supervise Landscape Construction Work: Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of landscape construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Resolve Work Problems, Provide Technical Advice and Recommend Measures to Improve Productivity and Product Quality: Identify and resolve any issues that may arise during projects, providing technical guidance and recommendations to improve efficiency and quality.
  • Supervise Other Workers: Mentor and supervise other workers, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to complete tasks effectively.
  • Establish Work Schedules and Procedures: Develop and implement efficient work schedules and procedures to ensure projects are completed on time.
  • Train Other Workers: Provide training and development opportunities to other workers, ensuring they have the necessary skills to complete tasks effectively.
  • Perform Same Duties as Workers Supervised: Be prepared to perform the same duties as the workers you supervise, ensuring you have a hands-on understanding of the work being done.
Requirements
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required.
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in landscape construction or a related field.
  • Work Site Environment: Work outdoors in a fast-paced environment.
  • Work Setting: Work at various locations, including construction sites and company offices.
  • Tasks: Hire, supervise, and schedule staff, plan and direct grounds maintenance, plan, manage, and supervise landscape construction work, resolve work problems, provide technical advice, and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality.
  • Supervision: Supervise 5-10 people.
  • Equipment and Machinery Experience: Experience with chain saws, small engine equipment, sod cutters, and tractor mowers.
  • Area of Specialization: Lawn care, tree service, grounds maintenance, landscape construction, and nursery or greenhouse.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Work in a fast-paced environment, work under pressure, handle heavy loads, and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Weight Handling: Handle weights up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
  • Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots.
  • Personal Suitability: Initiative, judgement, and team player.
