Job Title: Marine Service Technician

We are seeking a skilled Marine Service Technician to join our team at Ocean West Marine Group Inc.

Job Summary:

The Marine Service Technician will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on marine vessels, ensuring they are in good working condition and meet safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on marine vessels, including inspections, repairs, and replacements of electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Diagnose and isolate faults on engines and other marine equipment.
  • Adjust, repair, or replace electrical and mechanical system parts as needed.
  • Document inspection and test results, as well as repair costs and work orders.
  • Estimate repair costs and review work orders with supervisors.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to apprentices and other team members.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance and service on marine equipment and vessels.
  • Advise customers on work performed and the condition of equipment.
  • Test and adjust repaired equipment for proper performance.
Requirements:
  • 1-2 years of experience in marine maintenance and repair.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, as well as marine equipment and vessels.
  • Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in wet/damp environments.
  • Physical stamina to perform demanding tasks and work in fast-paced environments.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Working Conditions:
  • Work will be performed on marine vessels and in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • May be required to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in wet/damp environments.
  • May be required to work in noisy, dusty, and odorous environments.
Personal Suitability:
  • Organized and reliable with strong attention to detail.
  • Team player with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
