Position Overview:

We are in search of a Virtual Life Insurance Consultant to become a vital part of our Insurance division.

Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Insurance and Advanced Planning, the Virtual Life Insurance Consultant will engage in client consultations to facilitate the sale of insurance products. This role involves collaborating with program partners to identify potential clients for engagement and risk management strategies. Upon client interest, the Consultant will manage the application process, ensuring all underwriting criteria are satisfied, and finalize the insurance placement once issued. All interactions will occur in a virtual setting, necessitating a high level of comfort with technology and non-face-to-face communication.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and pursue prospecting opportunities for new clients in collaboration with partner advisors.
  • Engage with clients through various communication channels, including phone, email, and video conferencing, to conduct needs assessments and present proposals.
  • Ensure comprehensive and accurate applications are submitted to life insurance carriers, monitoring progress until policy issuance.
  • Adhere to all regulatory requirements in daily operations, ensuring compliance with the insurance agency in each licensed province.
  • Maintain rigorous service standards with all stakeholders.
  • Track referrals from partner staff and monitor file progress for reporting purposes.
  • Foster strong client relationships through regular communication, providing timely and valuable information, advice, and solutions to meet their insurance needs.
  • Utilize financial planning tools and data to create tailored plans and recommendations, collaborating with specialists to ensure comprehensive financial planning for clients.
  • Stay informed on compliance issues and relevant policies, participating in audits as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Economics.
  • Life Insurance and Accident & Sickness Insurance licenses.
  • 3-5 years of experience in the financial services sector, specifically in selling life insurance and related products.
  • Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales and service objectives.
  • Certified Financial Planner designation is advantageous.
  • Proficient with technology and comfortable in a virtual environment.
  • Strong customer service orientation and a positive demeanor.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, suitable for virtual interactions.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Proficient in planning tools and advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Integrity in handling confidential and sensitive information.
  • Fluency in English is required; bilingualism in French is a plus.
