Position Summary

As a full-service hospital, Southlake Regional Health Centre focuses on delivering advanced clinical care to over one million residents in York Region and Simcoe County.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage in both direct and indirect advanced clinical practice, education, research, and consultation within a designated clinical specialty to ensure optimal care for patients and caregivers.
  • Actively contribute to the program and professional leadership team, promoting quality care through the implementation of evidence-based practices, evaluation of patient outcomes, and development of policies and clinical programs.
  • Encourage continuous learning through professional development and mentorship of students.
  • Exemplify both professional and organizational core competencies while providing expert clinical nursing leadership.

Required Skills & Abilities

  • Able to work 12-hour shifts, including nights and weekends.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively within an interprofessional team.
  • Demonstrated initiative and autonomy in utilizing critical thinking and advanced decision-making skills.
  • Experience in clinical nursing, interprofessional leadership, and education.
  • Familiarity with program development, quality improvement initiatives, and program evaluation.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, with demonstrated negotiation and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Commitment to delivering an exceptional experience for patients, families, and staff.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Nursing/Nurse Practitioner Stream, or a Master's in Nursing/Master of Science in Nursing with successful completion of a post-Master's Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Certificate from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of three years of relevant clinical specialty experience as a Nurse Practitioner.
  • Recent experience in Geriatrics and Chronic Disease Management.
  • Registered in Good Standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Current membership with RNAO.
  • Preferred clinical specialty organizational membership.
  • Membership with the Nurse Practitioner's Association of Ontario.
  • BCLS certification required.
  • Minimum of three years of experience as an advanced practice nurse in a specific clinical specialty is preferred.
