About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join BCEHS as a Senior Leadership and Organizational Development Manager. As a trusted advisor to leaders at all levels, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of BCEHS' new People Plan through a range of initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership and guidance on full-scope leadership and organizational development initiatives.
  • Lead and inspire a team of specialists, coaches, facilitators, and coordinators to deliver inclusive and impactful programs.
  • Design and deliver regular forums and meetings for leadership at all levels to foster collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive organization development strategy, including needs analysis, design, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Create leadership development strategies and pathways to prepare individuals for current and future organizational needs.
  • Identify skill and learning gaps through needs analysis and recommend solutions to support talent development.
  • Manage and participate in the delivery of services such as workshops, focus groups, and development curriculum.
  • Collaborate with partners to create and enhance leadership development offerings that meet the needs of BCEHS' diverse workforce.
  • Apply an LD/OD approach to identify and develop clients' capacity and excellence in the areas of LD and competency.
  • Support leaders with performance conversations, including goal setting and development.
  • Work with the Director to deliver reports to measure progress and connect to overall KPIs, scorecards, and dashboards.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field supplemented by seven to ten years of progressively more senior experience, including a minimum of three years at a leadership level.
  • Professional coaching certification(s).
  • Training in group change methodologies.
  • Training or certification in DEI and/or trauma-informed practice is an asset.
  • Experience in culture transformation and team development.
  • Experience designing, implementing, and managing leadership development programs and initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of Leadership and Organizational Development theories, models, best practices, consulting principles, and methodologies.
  • Advanced coaching, mentoring, and facilitation skills.
  • Demonstrated experience with continuous improvement and HR best practices.
  • Proficiency in assessing and measuring intervention effectiveness.
  • Proficiency in organizational change and consultation.
  • Ability to demonstrate the LEADS competencies, excellent communication skills, and the ability to facilitate, negotiate, and influence others to achieve resolution.
  • Ability to coach, supervise, and lead staff.
  • Ability to establish courses of action for self and others that are results-oriented.
  • Demonstrated leadership competencies, including facilitating team effectiveness and team members' professional development.
  • Commitment to the value of continuous learning.
  • Proficiency in assessing and measuring intervention effectiveness.
  • Superior relationship-building skills from the inside out.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of legislative obligations and provincial commitments found in the foundational documents, including the Truth & Reconciliation Commission's Calls to Action (2015), In Plain Sight (2020), BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019), United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP), Reclaiming Power and Place Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women & Girls Calls for Justice (2019), the Declaration Act Action Plan, and Remembering Keegan: A First Nations Case Study.
  • Models and supports full team commitment to Indigenous-specific anti-racism, anti-racism, and Indigenous Cultural Safety, including oversight and commitment to education strategy.
  • Collaborates with peers to ensure Indigenous-specific anti-racism and ICSH are applied holistically through the department as a whole.
  • Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada as per TRC and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act.
  • Knowledge of social, economic, political, and historical realities of settler colonialism on Indigenous Peoples and familiarity with addressing Indigenous-specific anti-racism, anti-racism, and Indigenous Cultural Safety and foundational documents and legislative commitments.
