About the Role

The Manager, Retail Services is a key member of the H&R Block Canada team, responsible for overseeing the company's retail capital expenditure program. This includes managing construction projects, facility services, vendor relationships, and generating requisitions as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Capital Expenditure Management: Oversee the company's retail capital expenditure program, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Project Management: Lead weekly calls with real estate representatives, architects, and telecom teams to track project progress.
  • Requisitions and Purchasing: Generate purchase orders as required for all capex projects and requests.
  • Field Requests and Maintenance: Review and approve all field capex requests for minor work or projects, and manage facility services, including maintenance repairs and site issues.
  • Insurance Claims and Utility Management: Oversee and coordinate incident claims caused by third parties or the elements, and manage utility activations and deactivations.
  • Vendor Management: Establish key vendors, manage relationships, and conduct annual reviews.
  • Design Standards and Lease Management: Work with operations leaders, furniture vendors, and architects to establish design standards for permanent locations and temporary kiosks, and manage lease renewals.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or relevant education in the field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years' experience in capex project management.
  • Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, strong organizational and time management skills, excellent verbal and written English communication skills, and knowledge of retail leasing and leasing processes.
