About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Physiotherapist to join our team at the Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a Physiotherapist, you will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients who present with actual or potential impairment, pain, functional limitations, or disabilities.

The successful candidate will provide physiotherapy services in outpatient, inpatient, and community settings, and will be required to communicate effectively with other healthcare professionals, patients, and their families. The Physiotherapist will also be responsible for supervising and evaluating physiotherapy students and assistants.

About You

We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in physiotherapy, including a Bachelor's degree or entry-level master's program from an accredited university. Membership with the Nova Scotia College of Physiotherapists is also required.

The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, as well as computer skills, including statistics input, word processing, and Outlook. Annual Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation certification (BCLS) is also a requirement.

We are particularly interested in candidates with additional education or training in specialized areas of physiotherapy, such as cardio-respiratory techniques, acupuncture, stroke rehabilitation, manual therapy, balance training, and other areas.

Competencies in other languages are an asset, with French being preferred.

Hours

This is a short assignment full-time position, with 75 hours bi-weekly. The assignment is approximately 7 months in duration.

Compensation and Incentives

The successful candidate will be offered a competitive hourly rate of $42.89.
