About the Role

At BGIS, we are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Financial Services Representative to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for processing accounts payable payments in a timely and accurate manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process accounts payable payments in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
  • Communicate with suppliers to resolve payment discrepancies and ensure timely payment.
  • Liaise with business unit leaders to obtain approval for payments and ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Review and verify documents for accuracy and completeness, identifying any discrepancies or errors.
  • Perform mathematical calculations to verify payment accuracy and identify any errors.
  • Validate accounts payable documents against supporting documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare electronic fund transfers and cheques for payments.
  • Enter accounts payable transactions into accounting systems.
Requirements
  • Community college diploma in accounting or related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in clerical accounting or accounts payable.
  • Understanding of sales tax rules and regulations.
  • Ability to execute work according to established procedures and guidelines.
  • Ability to identify and resolve accounts payable issues and discrepancies.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and identify inaccuracies in data.
  • Ability to process a high volume of data with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others for data exchange, clarification, and dispute resolution.
  • Ability to exercise judgment and make decisions in a timely manner.
  • Proficient in accounting systems, MS Office Excel, and other MS Office software applications.
