About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Regional Commodity Buyer to join our Global Purchasing Organization at Magna International Inc. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing purchasing strategies that drive business growth and profitability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement purchasing strategies that align with business goals and objectives
  • Manage regional commodity responsibilities, including sourcing, negotiations, and supply base management
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of purchasing activities
  • Perform strategic sourcing analyses to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers to ensure high-quality products and services
  • Manage supplier files, component files, RFQs, and contracts to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Support supplier improvement initiatives and escalate issues as needed
  • Provide regular reporting and metrics to stakeholders to ensure transparency and accountability
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, engineering, business, or related discipline
  • 5-10 years of progressive experience in purchasing, preferably in the automotive industry
  • Proven track record of success in strategic sourcing, negotiations, and supply base management
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to think critically and make informed decisions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders
  • Knowledge of industry best practices, standards, and performance metrics
