We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Buyer to join our team at CB Canada. As a Junior Buyer, you will be responsible for coordinating activities to obtain costing and supporting new programs, engineering changes, R&D requests, and market tests.
Key Responsibilities- Send out RFQs to selected sources and perform cost analysis for use during the sourcing process.
- Develop and utilize knowledge of commodities and supplier cost structures to achieve cost reduction and price negotiation objectives.
- Procure prototype components and materials to support pre-production builds.
- Support key dates during the Product Delivery Process, representing the Purchasing Department and meeting program timelines.
- Review, update, and maintain RFC-RFQ requests in the online database, including reviewing part drawings, CAD files, and program information for RFQ.
- Assist with sourcing activities for program teams, supporting the development of sourcing plans, supplier recommendations, and bid recaps for key stakeholders.
- Prepare tooling and/or prototype requisitions and purchase orders as required, following authorization to proceed.
- Support pre-production orders and build schedules, tracking tooling and prototypes to ensure timelines are met.
- Attend meetings representing the Purchasing Department and follow up as required.
- Minimum 6 months of purchasing experience.
- Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Business, or equivalent.
- Working towards a purchasing designation (CSCMP) is an asset.
- Proficiency in working with Trans4M and SAP.
- Proficient in word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Product knowledge in automotive parts or material commodities.
- Ability to work with multiple demands and competing deadlines.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills: verbal and written.
- Well-organized.
- Demonstrated successful performance with independent problem-solving.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
