Shift: Evening - 1:30 PM - 10:00 PM

Location: Lachine Facility - Montreal

POSITION OVERVIEW

  • Foster and uphold a culture where health and safety are paramount.
  • Supervise a diverse team comprising warehouse personnel, administrative staff, and drivers.
  • Conduct daily inspections of the yard, monitor temperature conditions, and organize trailer setups while ensuring accurate documentation.
  • Oversee routine vehicle and fuel upkeep.
  • Strategically plan and coordinate outbound trips in accordance with scheduled departures and specific Linehaul requirements.
  • Accountable for critical performance metrics such as pick-up and delivery costs, dock expenses, load efficiency, etc.
  • Establish and maintain cold chain assurance protocols, including HACCP, focusing on program development, compliance, employee training, and reporting.
  • Champion continuous talent development and leadership within the team.
  • Collaborate effectively with all transport, line haul, and warehouse personnel to meet daily objectives.
  • Work closely with the terminal operations manager to implement key performance indicators related to customer service goals.
  • Monitor service levels and drive ongoing service enhancements as necessary.
  • Prioritize customer satisfaction by engaging in calls and meetings as needed.
  • Partner with terminal operations management and sales teams to devise customer retention strategies and identify new business opportunities.
  • Gather and relay operational data as directed by the terminal operations manager.
  • Propose continuous improvement initiatives and identify opportunities for cost reduction and growth.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least one year of experience in a leadership role, or demonstrated leadership capabilities.
  • Bilingual: Proficient in both French and English (written and spoken).
  • A degree in operations, logistics, or a related discipline is advantageous.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Positive attitude and a collaborative leadership approach.
  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision while being an integral part of the warehouse team.
  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks and efficiently organize workflows to meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Quick adaptability and flexibility in a dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
