Halifax Water is seeking a qualified individual for the position of Manager, Infrastructure Engineering. This is a full-time opportunity within the Engineering and Capital Infrastructure department.
As the Manager of Infrastructure Engineering, your responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing a team of both professional and technical personnel dedicated to the design and execution of capital projects related to water, wastewater, and stormwater.
- Maintaining a high level of expertise regarding Halifax Water's infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on the delivery of capital projects aligned with the long-term strategies outlined in the Integrated Resource Plan.
- Ensuring your team possesses the necessary mix of experience and skills to effectively manage a diverse range of capital projects, from linear infrastructure to significant structural developments.
- Actively participating in high-risk projects, identifying potential issues, and providing recommendations for corrective actions to the Senior Manager of Capital Project Delivery.
- Building and nurturing relationships with consulting engineers and construction teams, serving as the primary support for project engineering staff in resolving design and construction challenges.
To qualify for this role, you will need:
- A post-secondary degree in Engineering (civil, municipal, environmental, or equivalent) along with a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) designation.
- A minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in engineering, specifically in leading municipal engineering projects and managing multidisciplinary teams, including direct supervisory experience.
- Eligibility for membership with Engineers Nova Scotia.
- A willingness to complete and maintain the following safety training:
- First Aid
- Globally Harmonized System (GHS) (formerly WHMIS)
