Job Summary:

Are you looking for a challenging opportunity to work in a dynamic and global environment? Boart Longyear is seeking a skilled Driller Assistant to join our team in the Drilling Services division.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure a safe working environment by following established policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Perform drilling operations and maintenance tasks, including handling rods and drilling tools, collecting and handling samples, and mixing drilling fluids.
  • Conduct basic maintenance of tools and equipment, and perform housekeeping duties.
  • Support drilling operations by carrying out pre-start checks, refueling vehicles and plant, and completing daily drill reports and inventory logs.
  • Monitor and maintain a safe workplace, and apply risk management processes to eliminate work-related injuries and damage to equipment.
  • Provide training and coaching to other field employees, and contribute to establishing effective workplace relationships.

Position Qualifications:

  • Valid First Aid Certificate
  • Sufficient language skills, literacy, and numeracy skills to perform all job-related tasks
  • Labor background is considered an asset
  • Exposure to diamond drilling environments and techniques is considered an asset
  • This position requires the successful candidate to meet the Fitness for Duty program standards
