Job Title: Driller - Sonic

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Driller - Sonic to join our team at Boart Longyear. As a Driller - Sonic, you will be responsible for providing semi-skilled labor-intensive assistance across a wide spectrum of drilling operations in an efficient and safe manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides semi-skilled labor-intensive assistance across a wide spectrum of drilling operations in an efficient and safe manner.
  • Responsible for general condition and obtaining optimum life out of all site equipment and tools.
  • Ensures correct alignment with front and back sites, offsets, depth, and setting of the drill at the correct angle.
  • May be responsible for the training of new drillers in a safe environment.
  • Performs surveys according to client requirements.

Requirements:

  • Driller or driller's helper experience related to sonic or geotechnical drilling.
  • Ability to work in mining and oil & gas environments, including the ability to pass pre-access, post-incident, and annual drug and alcohol screening.
  • Class 5 or better driver's license with a reasonable driver's abstract (commercial DL is an asset).
  • Willingness to work with a wide variety of equipment.
  • Willingness to work long hours outdoors in all conditions.
  • Willingness to work hard and travel for work.
  • Willingness to perform both shop-based and field-based work.
  • Will to learn new advanced geotechnical testing techniques involving sophisticated electronic testing equipment.

Education and Experience:
