Job Summary

Prairie Mountain Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced pharmacist to join our team as a Regional Staff Pharmacist. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong clinical expertise, leadership skills, and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Medication Distribution and Management

Develop and implement effective medication distribution systems, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of medications to patients.

Order Verification and Triage

Verify the authenticity, completeness, and appropriateness of medication orders, identifying potential issues and taking corrective action as needed.

Drug Information and Education

Provide accurate and timely drug information to patients and healthcare professionals, supporting informed decision-making and improving patient outcomes.

Clinical Decision-Making and Problem-Solving

Monitor patient clinical status and drug therapies, identifying potential medication-related problems and developing effective solutions.

Leadership and Supervision

Supervise and direct pharmacy assistants, students, and interns, ensuring accurate task completion and promoting a culture of excellence.

Policy Development and Implementation

Collaborate with the Director of Pharmacy/Manager of Pharmacy to develop, implement, and revise policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.

Requirements
  • Education and Licensure

Hold a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or equivalent undergraduate pharmacy degree, and be licensed or eligible for licensure as a pharmacist in the Province of Manitoba.

Certification

Hold Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada Certification.

Skills and Qualifications

Demonstrate strong leadership and independent judgment, excellent written and oral communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Requirements

Hold a Province of Manitoba Class 5 Driver's License and have access to a personal vehicle to provide service within Prairie Mountain Health.
