Job Overview

Sport Chek is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Department Manager to lead our Hardgoods department. As a key member of our store team, you will be responsible for driving sales growth, improving customer satisfaction, and maintaining a positive and motivating work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute daily, weekly, and monthly sales plans to drive sales growth and meet or exceed sales targets.
  • Lead and motivate a team of sales associates to provide exceptional customer service and achieve sales goals.
  • Ensure visual merchandising standards are met and maintained, including product displays, signage, and store appearance.
  • Manage inventory levels, including ordering, receiving, and stocking merchandise.
  • Monitor and control shrinkage, including investigating and resolving any discrepancies.
  • Develop and implement training programs to improve sales skills and product knowledge among sales associates.
  • Collaborate with other department managers to achieve store goals and objectives.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback to sales associates to improve performance and achieve sales goals.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, including safety and security protocols.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of retail management experience, preferably in a hardgoods department.
  • Proven track record of driving sales growth and improving customer satisfaction.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
