Senior Retirement Actuarial Consultant

Mercer is seeking a highly skilled Senior Retirement Actuarial Consultant to join our Wealth business in Montréal. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering customized retirement risk transfer solutions to clients of all sizes, with a focus on efficient implementation.
Key Responsibilities- Act as the main point of contact for clients on some client teams or projects.
- Deliver consulting advice and risk transfer solutions to clients of all sizes, with a focus on efficient implementation.
- Liaise with other lines of business and/or other geographies to coordinate service delivery.
- Perform or oversee necessary calculations or analysis with respect to DB pension plan funding and accounting valuations.
- Design and implement strategies to manage defined benefit pension plan volatility, including funding strategy, plan design, and risk transfer solutions.
- Work with investment consultants to manage pension plan risk from a holistic perspective.
- Delegate, manage, and review analysis and client work by analysts.
- Create project work plans and monitor timelines and budgets.
- Identify new revenue growth opportunities with clients and manage the proposal process.
- Facilitate client meetings and act as a trusted advisor to clients.
- Bachelor's degree in Math, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
- 5+ years of pension-related work experience, preferably in a consulting environment.
- Successful client relationship experience.
- Proven project management experience.
- Superior proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong independence and a collegial team player.
