About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Scientist to lead the development of advanced analytics and data science solutions for the Ontario Securities Commission. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership, expertise, and technical assistance in the application of advanced analytics and data science across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver advanced analytics and data science solutions using new and emerging technologies
  • Provide strategic leadership and expertise in the application of advanced analytics and data science
  • Assist management in developing and establishing relationships and partnerships with other data science organizations and regulatory agencies
  • Lead a team of data scientists and engineers to develop and deliver complex data science solutions
  • Contribute to the development of organization-wide best practices for analytics and data science
Requirements
  • Undergraduate degree in a STEM field, including Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Business, or other related disciplines
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in data science or advanced analytics roles
  • Experience with advanced analytics, data science, and/or application development
  • Strong experience working with big data (structured and unstructured) and defining efficient solutions to unlock data capabilities
  • Advanced proficiency and experience working with analytics and development languages, such as Python, R, Scala, PySpark, Angular, React JS, etc.
