About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Commercial Banking Director to join our team at National Bank of Canada. As a key member of our Commercial Banking and Private Banking 1859 sector, you will be responsible for growing the portfolio of business clients assigned to you.

Your primary focus will be on identifying and developing business opportunities in your market, increasing your commercial client base, and establishing business development strategies. You will work closely with clients to help them achieve their business objectives by proposing financial strategies based on the most suitable combination of Bank products and services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement business development strategies to increase commercial client base
  • Provide financial solutions and advice to clients to help them achieve their business objectives
  • Negotiate terms and conditions of agreements with clients while ensuring risk management standards and profitability criteria are met
  • Collaborate with the Regional Vice-President to achieve business objectives
  • Work with the Manager – Financing Solutions to provide comprehensive financial solutions to clients
  • Participate in networking activities to build relationships with clients and industry partners
  • Work in synergy with all departments of the Bank to provide seamless service to clients

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • At least 5 to 9 years' experience in sales and business development within the financial industry
  • University certificate and 9 years' experience
  • Bachelor's degree and 7 years' experience
  • Master's degree and 5 years' experience
  • Experience in sales and business development
  • Experience in analysis of financial statements
  • Experience in commercial credit
  • A network of professional contacts among local medium-sized enterprises and large companies
