The successful candidate is a system leader and champion in their community, providing advanced-level patient care and consultation for issues commonly seen in older adults that affect health, physical and cognitive function, and independence.
The physician works closely with the senior care team and provides liaison with the Western Zone Geriatrician(s).

Nova Scotia Health and IWK Health are committed to providing high-quality patient care and are seeking a dedicated and compassionate physician to join our team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Providing advanced-level patient care and consultation for issues commonly seen in older adults
- Supporting peer-to-peer education and consulting
- Leading or acting as a member of an interprofessional healthcare team
- Providing leadership and education related to healthcare of the older adults
- Working in hospital settings as a consultant or as the most responsible physician
- Participating in research to advance the field of healthcare for the older adults
The ideal candidate will have:
- Eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
- Eligibility for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)
- Certificate of Added Competencies in Care of the Elderly (COE) required
- Evidence of insurance with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
