The Role

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to the finance and accounting team, driving business growth and profitability.
  • Offer expert financial guidance to the CEO and executive management team, informing key business decisions.
  • Develop and oversee the implementation of financial forecasts, budgets, and reporting, ensuring accuracy and transparency.
  • Advise the CEO and Board of Directors on long-term business and financial planning, identifying opportunities for growth and improvement.
  • Review, refine, and optimize all formal finance procedures, ensuring efficiency and compliance.
  • Lead capital raises and collaborate with the CEO to build the company's reputation with capital markets participants, including industry analysts, investment bankers, and stockbrokers.
  • Ensure all regulatory requirements are met, maintaining a strong compliance culture.

Requirements

  • Hold a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in a senior leadership position, driving financial performance and growth.
  • Experience with corporate governance, ensuring alignment with best practices.
  • Experience leading funding rounds, navigating complex financial transactions.
  • Proven track record of leading a financial/accounting team, driving results and improvement.
  • Experience or interest in the cannabis industry, staying up-to-date on market trends and developments.
