At Hatch, we pride ourselves on our diverse and inclusive work environment. Our Earth Sciences and Engineering division excels in areas such as site planning, spatial data analysis, and water resource management. We are currently seeking a motivated Intermediate Hydrotechnical Engineer to enhance our engineering team.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conducting hydrotechnical engineering assessments and designs, collaborating closely with Civil and Geotechnical Engineers on projects related to river engineering, dam construction, and hydropower development.
• Performing hydrological analyses, including flood risk assessments and water flow studies, to inform project decisions.
• Preparing comprehensive technical documentation, including reports, specifications, and engineering drawings.
• Engaging in due diligence processes for hydropower projects, contributing to financial assessments and acquisitions.
• Building and maintaining client relationships while actively participating in business development initiatives.
Qualifications:
Essential:
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Water Resources or Hydrology.
• Over 10 years of relevant experience in Hydrotechnical Engineering, with a minimum of 5 years in a multidisciplinary environment in Canada.
• Professional Engineer designation or eligibility for registration in Ontario.
• Proven experience in various hydrology applications, including dam safety, water management planning, and hydropower projects.
• Proficiency in hydrologic modeling software and open-channel hydraulics, with experience in GIS applications.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on teamwork and client engagement.
Preferred:
• Experience in consulting engineering.
• Advanced degrees (M.Sc., M.Eng., or equivalent).
• Multilingual capabilities, especially in Spanish and French.
