Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Credit Analyst to join our team at BMO. As a Credit Analyst, you will play a critical role in facilitating decision-making and analysis of credit information to support real estate-related lending decisions and processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate decision-making and analysis of credit information to support real estate-related lending decisions and processes.
  • Maintain and promote a client service environment to satisfy and exceed customer needs and expectations.
  • Support the development of credit recommendations in accordance with sound credit-granting principles and in compliance with Bank Policies & Procedures.
  • Focus on construction & development financing as well as commercial mortgage/term lending.
  • Underwrite new business transactions & annual reviews.
  • Apply expertise in bank products, processes, and systems and effectively troubleshoot to ensure a high-quality client experience.
  • Influence and negotiate to achieve business objectives.
  • Serve as a daily escalation resource to ensure client expectations are met or exceeded.
  • Act as the real estate subject matter expert in support of internal/external stakeholders.
  • May coordinate closings with closing department, clients, and attorneys.
  • Recommend and implement solutions based on analysis of issues and implications for the business.
  • Conduct independent analysis and assessment to support credit adjudication.
  • Develop monthly action plans relating to portfolio management to prioritize key deliverables on annual reviews and new business transactions in association with the account management team.
  • Design and produce regular and ad-hoc reports, and dashboards.
  • Oversee preparation of concise, well-reasoned credit correspondence.
  • Oversee documentation and ongoing monitoring of asset and client performance.
  • Provide accurate financial analysis and risk assessment of new and existing customers.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders for accurate, detailed client information.
  • Prepare summary, present facts, and offer opinions concerning credit transactions under review.
  • Minimize BMO's risk exposure by adhering to internal credit policies and procedures with respect to lending decisions.
  • Build effective relationships with internal/external stakeholders.
  • Exercise judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given rules.
  • Work independently and regularly handle non-routine situations.
Qualifications
  • Typically, between 3 - 5 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong knowledge and technical proficiency gained through education and business experience.
