Position Overview

The Assistant Manager of Nutrition and Food Services plays a crucial role in supporting the Director of the Central Zone. This position is dedicated to ensuring the smooth and effective delivery of Nutrition and Food Services across designated sites. The Assistant Manager is tasked with the planning, organization, and management of daily operations within the Nutrition and Food Services department.

Key Responsibilities

The Assistant Manager will:

  • Oversee the implementation of Nutrition and Food Services initiatives, addressing operational challenges and proposing solutions.
  • Manage human resources and financial responsibilities, ensuring a high standard of patient experience.
  • Guarantee patient safety through a meticulous meal ordering process, minimizing risks related to allergens and foodborne illnesses.
  • Collaborate with the Director to develop and standardize operational practices.
  • Provide training in service excellence to all team members within the Nutrition and Food Services department.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety training and maintain updated tracking records.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Nutrition, Hospitality Management, Food Science, Culinary Arts, or a related field.
  • Advanced Food Safety Training certification.
  • Three to five years of progressive management experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of institutional food service operations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with Nutrition software.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, fostering positive relationships with staff and clients.
  • Ability to analyze statistical data and monitor quality indicators.
  • Experience in financial planning and human resource management.
  • Understanding of relevant legislation and standards.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple deadlines.
  • A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel.
Work Schedule

This is a permanent, full-time position requiring 75 hours biweekly.

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly wage for this position is $41.42. Successful candidates may also be eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance, along with a defined benefit pension plan.
