Senior Helpers Vancouver BC is seeking compassionate and skilled Health Care Assistants to join our team. As a Health Care Assistant with our organization, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors in their own homes.
About the Role:
- Assist clients with activities of daily living, such as bathing, grooming, and dressing
- Provide support with instrumental activities of daily living, including light housekeeping and meal preparation
- Monitor and report any changes in client condition to the healthcare team
- Assist with mobility and transferring patients safely
- Support patients with eating and drinking, adhering to dietary requirements
- Assist with medication reminders and administration under supervision
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients and their families
Requirements:
- Current registration with the BC Care Aide & Community Health Worker Registry
- Completion of a recognized Health Care Assistant program
- Previous experience working as a Health Care Assistant in a healthcare setting preferred
- Negative TB test completed in the past 90 days
- A negative Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check issued in the past 90 days
- Certification in CPR and First Aid
- Reliable transportation and flexibility to work various shifts
