Role Summary

Reporting to the Director of Information Technology, the IT Systems Analyst plays a crucial role in leading and participating in significant projects that enhance our Service Desk and core business functions. This mid to senior-level position will also contribute to maintaining our infrastructure and ensuring effective network and system monitoring to address critical issues promptly, adhering to industry standards (ITIL).

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Technical Lead for Service Desk and Fleet management throughout the lifecycle, including procurement, deployment, support, and decommissioning.
  • Collaborate with team members to maintain and secure our infrastructure, including servers, storage, and databases.
  • Oversee system and security monitoring, maintaining logs and error statistics to ensure rapid problem resolution and secure operations.
  • Contribute to the development of the IT operational strategy and provide end-user support across the organization.
  • Mentor junior team members and provide necessary training.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service, investigate and escalate issues, and coordinate application support as needed.
  • Manage and prioritize requests using a ServiceDesk Ticketing System.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in defining work assignments, device and system configuration, and developing deployment standards.
  • Participate in various project capacities, ensuring key assignments are delivered with adequate resources.
  • Engage in all phases of the system lifecycle, including requirements gathering, analysis, solution design, implementation, and maintenance.
  • Collaborate with regional Change Advisory Boards to deploy technical change requests in line with policies.
  • Work with regional partners, departmental staff, and vendors as necessary.
  • Stay updated on healthcare policies, procedures, and technology trends through educational sessions.
  • Assist in evaluating and recommending departmental expenditures.
  • Adhere to health and safety practices while maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in information technology or equivalent experience and certifications.
  • At least five years of experience in a systems administration role within a complex IT environment, preferably in healthcare.
  • Additional technical training and certifications such as MSCE, HP & EMC are advantageous.
  • Proficient in computer databases, spreadsheets, MS Office 365, and electronic healthcare software.
  • Hands-on experience with LANs/WANs and network administration.
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies, storage, and systems administration is a plus.
  • Knowledge of backup and patch management technologies is beneficial.
  • Understanding of Active Directory, DNS, and domain joining processes is required.
  • Experience with VPN, firewalls, and security certificates is an asset.
  • Previous experience with Epic systems is advantageous.
  • Solid grasp of cybersecurity concepts and compliance standards is beneficial.
  • Experience with networking hardware and security standards is preferred.
  • Ability to establish effective relationships with colleagues and team members.
  • Basic understanding of project management methodologies is helpful.
  • Experience in agile delivery models is preferred.

Employment Requirements

Successful candidates must provide a satisfactory vulnerable sector criminal reference check within the first sixty days of employment. Additionally, candidates must complete the Health Care Worker Health review process, including an up-to-date immunization record, within the first thirty days of employment.
