Position Overview

The IT Systems Analyst plays a crucial role in the Information Technology department, focusing on enhancing our Service Desk and supporting essential organizational functions and business processes. This mid to senior-level position is vital for maintaining our infrastructure and ensuring effective network and system monitoring to address critical issues promptly, adhering to industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the Technical Lead for Service Desk and Fleet management throughout the lifecycle, including procurement, deployment, support, and decommissioning.
  • Collaborate with team members to maintain and secure our infrastructure, including servers, storage, and databases.
  • Monitor system and security alerts, maintaining logs and statistics to ensure swift problem resolution and reliable operations.
  • Contribute to the development of the IT operational strategy and provide end-user support across the organization.
  • Mentor junior team members and provide necessary training.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service, investigate and escalate issues, and coordinate application support as needed.
  • Manage and prioritize requests using a ServiceDesk Ticketing System.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in defining work assignments, device and system configuration, and developing standards for equipment deployment.
  • Participate in various projects, ensuring adequate resources and timely delivery of key assignments.
  • Engage in all phases of the system lifecycle, including requirements gathering, analysis, solution design, implementation, and maintenance.
  • Work collaboratively with regional and local Change Advisory Boards to deploy technical change requests.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of healthcare policies, procedures, and technology trends through educational sessions.
  • Assist in evaluating and recommending departmental expenditures.
  • Adhere to health and safety practices, reporting any hazards or incidents as per established policies.
  • Perform additional functions as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in information technology or equivalent experience and certifications.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in a systems administration role within a complex IT environment, preferably in healthcare.
  • Additional technical training or certifications such as MSCE, HP & EMC are advantageous.
  • Proficient in databases, spreadsheets, MS Office 365, and electronic healthcare software.
  • Hands-on experience with LANs/WANs and network administration.
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies, storage, and systems administration is beneficial.
  • Understanding of cyber security concepts and compliance standards is an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to foster effective relationships across departments.
  • Basic knowledge of project management methodologies is preferred.

Employment Requirements
