Job Summary

Associated Engineering is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Technologist to join our team. As a Mechanical Technologist, you will be responsible for designing and drafting mechanical infrastructure, including pumping/piping systems and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and draft mechanical infrastructure, including pumping/piping systems and equipment, using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
  • Develop and implement design solutions that meet client requirements and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design compliance with drafting standards and QA/QC procedures.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to junior team members.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and advancements in CAD software and design technologies.

Requirements

  • Diploma in Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or equivalent from an accredited post-secondary institution.
  • Eligible for professional registration with ASET.
  • 3+ years of progressive experience in CAD design and drafting of mechanical infrastructure.
  • Proficiency with latest versions of AutoCAD.
  • Familiarity with 3D design/building information modeling (BIM) using Revit OneBox or Revit MEP is an asset.
  • Experience with AutoCAD Plant 3D and/or Trimble SketchUp is an asset.
  • Familiarity with ANSI/ASME/AWWA piping codes and other applicable design codes and best practices is an asset.
  • Experience with design and drafting of process and building mechanical infrastructure, such as HVAC and plumbing is an asset.
  • Experience with design and drafting of civil infrastructure utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D is an asset.
  • Experience working for a consulting engineering firm is an asset.
  • Proven analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and independently.
