Job Summary:

We are seeking a talented Senior CAD Designer to join our team. As a Senior CAD Designer, you will play a crucial role in the design and development of bridge structures. You will be responsible for creating detailed CAD drawings, coordinating with bridge engineers, developing tender design drawings and detailed IFC drawings, acting as the CAD manager on large projects, supervising and mentoring junior CAD technicians, and having a strong understanding and working experience with the CAD standards of different highway ministries in Canada, such as Alberta Transportation (AT) and BC Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure (MOTi).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and modify detailed CAD drawings of bridge structures, including plans, elevations, sections, and details
  • Coordinate with bridge engineers to ensure design intent is accurately captured in CAD drawings
  • Develop tender design drawings and detailed IFC drawings
  • Act as the CAD manager on large projects, overseeing the CAD team and ensuring consistency and quality of deliverables
  • Supervise and mentor junior CAD technicians, providing guidance and training
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding and working experience with the CAD standards of different highway ministries in Canada, such as Alberta Transportation (AT) and BC Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure (MOTi)
  • Stay updated on the latest CAD software and design standards

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering Technology or a related field
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in bridge design using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D)
  • Strong proficiency in the Bentley and AutoCAD suite of CAD products
  • Experience in developing tender design drawings and detailed IFC drawings
  • Proven ability to lead and manage CAD teams on large projects
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
