CAD Operator Job Description

Wood is seeking a skilled CAD Operator to join our Drafting Department in Vancouver, BC. As a vital member of our engineering team, you will support project teams in delivering high-quality engineering documents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and draft technical drawings using AutoCAD and MicroStation
  • Develop and maintain accurate and detailed CAD models
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of engineering documents
  • Stay up-to-date with industry standards and best practices

Requirements:

  • Diploma in Computer Aided Design technology or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in direct industrial, mining, or process plant experience or transmission and distribution design
  • Proficient in MS Office and 2D, Isometric CAD drafting & manual drafting
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD 3D, Revit, or Civil 3D
  • Familiarity with GIS, Raster Design, or Auto Turn
  • LISP, VBA programming for AutoCAD
