We partner with private, public, and non-profit clients to provide day-to-day fleet management, marketing, and customer service support for a wide array of mobility programs.
As the operator of Bike Share Toronto, Shift Transit manages 9,000+ bikes and 700+ stations that cover across the City of Toronto. Shift Transit, with its partner PBSC Urban Solutions, has years of experience planning, implementing, and operating bike-sharing programs across North America.
We take pride in delivering an excellent experience to both our riders and our clients through careful planning and collaboration with our clients in each city.
About the RoleThe Field Mobility Associate will work in a field-based role, requiring the qualified candidate to drive. This position involves working under the guidance of the Field Operations team to ensure our bikes are in the right place at the right time.
The associate duties include:
- Performing pre and post inspections of the rebalancing vehicle and addressing any issues with the Field Operations team.
- Following instructions and responding to dispatch effectively.
- Retrieving inoperative bicycles by direction or via inoperative bicycle software.
- Inspecting docking stations for operability, safety, and cleanliness.
- Maintaining the area around bike stations as needed to allow members to use the service seamlessly.
- Setting the highest standards when interacting with current and potential customers.
- Collaborating with the Field Operations team to constantly improve the system and escalating any issues to dispatch.
- Performing light maintenance functions such as refilling receipt paper and graffiti removal.
- Operating a variety of vehicles (with/without a trailer attachment) and using bicycles and/or public transportation for travel.
- Driving a variety of vehicles (large van, cube van, pick-up truck with a trailer) to redistribute bikes as needed based on real-time demand data.
- Loading and unloading vehicles with bikes. Communicating with dispatchers and following instructions delivered through our dispatch software.
- Evaluating bike safety and bike station condition and reporting issues to dispatch as needed.
- Maintaining knowledge of the system to provide excellent customer service to current and potential customers in the field.
To be successful in this role, you must:
- Hold a valid Class G driver's license.
- Provide a clean driver abstract.
- Have strong multitasking ability.
- Be willing to drive and develop skill sets.
- Have great customer interaction skills.
- Have an excellent knowledge of the City of Toronto, with previous driving experience an asset.
- Be physically fit, able to do repetitive work, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Be tech-savvy, comfortable using a smartphone.
- Be willing to work in all weather conditions all year around.
- Have good written and verbal communication skills.
