Position Overview

Parsons Corporation is seeking a Senior Civil CAD Designer to engage in the preparation of intricate and sophisticated Road & Highway designs along with Traffic Engineering layouts. This role requires a blend of theoretical knowledge and practical design skills. The position is based in our Greater Toronto Region offices, with occasional travel to various local offices as necessary. Proficiency in Civil 3D and Microstation is a must.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret and ensure adherence to relevant standards, codes, and company policies. Utilize advanced software tools to effectively complete assignments.
  • Conduct fundamental geometric design for road and highway systems.
  • Collaborate closely with Engineers and other disciplines to ensure cohesive design systems. Fulfill Traffic Engineering layout requirements and develop alternative design layouts as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with necessary design safety factors, tolerances, and specifications. Review supplier data and manufacturer drawings as required.
  • Evaluate orthographic (2D) and/or isometric (3D) drawings prepared by others.
  • Execute checking procedures as appropriate to the discipline, as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
  • Assist in mentoring junior Designers in various procedures.
  • Utilize Microstation for various design tasks.

Qualifications:

  • A 2-year technical degree or certificate from an accredited designer/drafter program (or equivalent) is preferred, along with 4+ years of relevant experience.
