Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee a team of Software Developers and Quality Assurance professionals, guiding them in development strategies, agile methodologies, and execution.
- Establish and drive the strategic direction of the team, setting objectives and roadmaps to deliver innovative, high-quality software products that align with customer needs and business goals.
- Ensure adherence to software engineering best practices, focusing on quality, timely delivery, and customer satisfaction.
- Develop and nurture a high-performance team, serving as a role model and mentor to foster future leaders within the organization. This includes regular meetings to align on objectives, review metrics, and provide coaching for career advancement.
- Provide strategic direction to ensure organizational goals are met.
- Identify and advocate for new initiatives that drive business value in collaboration with stakeholders across the organization, including support, sales, and executive teams.
- Optimize the software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to design, implementation, testing, and deployment, ensuring engineering excellence and adherence to best practices.
- Promote a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and innovation within the software development team, encouraging experimentation and knowledge sharing.
- Manage relationships with external partners, customers, vendors, and contractors as necessary to support software development projects.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 3-4 years of experience in a similar managerial role.
- Technical expertise in:
- Kotlin, React, AngularJS, NodeJS.
- DevOps practices.
- AWS Aurora PostgreSQL.
- Strong skills in Software Development and Systems Design for delivering SaaS products while adhering to best practices.
- Experience leading a team of Software Developers.
- Proficient in data analysis for informed decision-making.
- Extensive experience in developing and executing successful roadmaps.
- Strategic mindset to enhance efficiency and achieve business objectives.
- Excellent communication skills, adaptable to various audiences.
- Proven track record in team building and talent development.
- Experience in the SaaS industry.
- Background in innovation leading to new product development and market competitiveness.
- Strong understanding of Agile Scrum methodologies and long-term software development lifecycles.
- Customer-focused approach.
- Familiarity with the transportation industry and/or knowledge of ELD compliance is a valuable asset.
