New Westminster Schools is seeking qualified French Immersion Teachers to join our team.

About the Role

We are looking for a dedicated and passionate French Immersion Teacher to teach at the elementary level. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment that fosters academic excellence and cultural awareness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach French Immersion classes to students at the elementary level
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Assess student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement school-wide initiatives
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
Requirements
  • Valid BC Teachers Certificate
  • Member of the Ministry of Education Teacher Regulation Branch
  • Qualified/experienced in French Immersion at the Elementary Level
  • Native-like fluency in written and spoken French language
  • Experience teaching French Immersion and/or formal training in French Immersion methodology
  • Knowledge of effective literacy and numeracy practices and development
  • Knowledge and experience in personalizing learning for all students
  • Ability and willingness to work in a technologically rich learning environment
  • Successful completion of a Criminal Record Search as carried out through the Ministry of Education Teacher Regulation Branch
  • Commitment to creating a safe and caring learning environment
