Our Horizontal Infrastructure (HI) Business Unit has been instrumental in delivering some of Canada's most significant infrastructure projects. Our team, which includes Planners, Engineers, and Contract Administrators, provides infrastructure solutions that foster economic growth and social prosperity.

We ensure a positive customer experience across Canada, from project inception and design development to construction completion. Our national HI group comprises engineers, technologists, technicians, and support personnel with diverse backgrounds in design and construction, all dedicated to delivering exceptional technical work and customer service. This team has built an excellent reputation through the successful execution of multidisciplinary infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare preliminary and detailed structural design drawings for bridges, culverts, and other transportation structures.
  • Assist project managers and engineers in the functional and detailed design (CADD design) of transportation structures.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members, including engineers, planners, architects, and technical and administrative support staff.
  • Conduct inspections of existing bridges, culverts, and other transportation structures.
  • Prepare reports, proposals, contract specifications, presentation materials, and quantity calculations.
  • Potential involvement in construction inspection and field review for new construction or rehabilitation of transportation structures, including shop drawing review.
  • Work within assigned project budgets and schedules.
  • Business travel may be required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma from a Technical or Technologist program in Structural Engineering.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within an engineering consulting firm.
  • Eligibility for certification as a Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.).
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD; experience with Civil 3D and MicroStation is an asset.
  • Bridge inspection experience, with formal training in OSIM Inspection considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of Manitoba Transportation and Infrastructure drawing standards is advantageous.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Interest in both office and field work.
  • A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.
