About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior SAP Technical Architect to join our team at Bombardier Transportation GmbH. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for providing technical leadership and support for our SAP technical landscape, systems, and technology stack.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical guidance and leadership on Bombardier's SAP technical landscape, systems, and full technology stack, including establishing standards and requirements, evaluating and directing enhancements, and implementing solutions for performance monitoring, and systems configuration, design, and implementation.
- Develop a deep understanding of the current and future technology platforms, while effectively communicating and supporting the execution of Target Architecture strategies and priorities.
- Manage and sustain current SAP ERP landscape while sunset ECC and transition to S4 deployment, responsible for the Technical Support of related environments - including Architecture, Integration, and Operational activities.
- Support technical integration and management of SAP S4HANA and SAP S4HANA ecosystem (including Ariba, IBP, ME/MII, Cloud integration) to enhance the overall system manageability and performance, while maintaining a high degree of quality.
- Manage Technical architecture analysis, research, design, and development of new services, integration with key applications under SAP ecosystems and data migration from legacy systems (SAP & Non-SAP).
- Partner with Data Owners, Product Owners, Domain Architects, and Program teams to understand the business requirements and propose best-in-class technical solutions that will be jointly designed and implemented based on the approved requirements.
- Support successful implementation of S/4HANA, including providing technical and integration expertise, guidance, collaboration, and instruction on SAP technical architecture to cross-functional Domain Architects/Solution Architects.
- Facilitate workshops to collect technical requirements and translate them to system designs with the ability to identify gaps, issues, and work-around solutions.
- Lead cross-technical teams through troubleshooting: investigate, analyze, and solve system problems and map system requirements to landscape planning; develops necessary technology options to improve TCO.
- Monitor the work of the technical team and ensure standards are adhered to in accordance with SAP's Solution Extensions.
- Ensure technical integrity of projects, making sure that common technical elements are leveraged, and that work is not duplicated.
- Build strong relationships with SAP and other partners that can help advance Bombardier's technology landscape.
- Architect and build a scalable and flexible technology foundation that supports the growth of core design, manufacturing, and Services businesses and enables future aspirations and growth offerings.
- Partner with peer technology leaders on Bombardier's strategy for adoption of cloud architecture, data science, and analytics platforms.
- Create and contribute to policies, technical procedures, technical documentation, awareness, and cross-team training.
- Continuously develop advanced skills and strives to foster broader organizational maturity in SAP Technical areas, which would include many of the following: SAP Analytic platforms, Business Process Controls, SAP GRC & SAP Solution Manager, Netweaver ABAP/JAVA stacks, ERP ECC, HANA, SLT, NWDI, Solutions Manager, PI, iXOS/OpenText, Data Virtualization.
- Work on Technical Support on the following areas (in collaboration/management of support vendors).
- Closely collaborate with Bombardier's 3rd-party vendors supporting Infra and other systems connecting to SAP.
Qualifications
- You have a degree in information technology, computer science, or other relevant field.
- You have 10 years' experience in IT and with SAP.
- You have 7 years' experience in SAP Basis and 5 years' experience in SAP HANA as well as in cloud computing (SAP RISE, an asset).
- You apply aviation industry best practices in implementing processes using SAP S/4 HANA.
- You are experienced in developing, planning, and implementing corporate technology strategy.
- You have practical skills in S/4 HANA migration strategy and integration.
- You have a good understanding of SAP Fiori capabilities and applicability.
- You have a good understanding of S/4 HANA modules and ecosystems (Ariba, IBP, ME, MII, cloud integration).
