Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Operations Manager to join our team at CPKC. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating all intermodal equipment maintenance and repair activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular safety audits to ensure compliance with E-test requirements
  • Schedule and coordinate lift equipment and hostler maintenance
  • Oversee CVI inspections on the intermodal chassis fleet
  • Manage maintenance, repairs, and retirement of container fleet
  • Ensure all maintenance and repairs are performed in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations, AAR Rules & Regulations, and federal and provincial laws
  • Monitor PM sheets and equipment maintenance to ensure OEM standards are met
  • Coordinate PPS pretripping and escalate requirements as needed
  • Ensure environmental policies are adhered to and waste disposal is in compliance with CPR's, federal, and provincial standards
  • Verify contractor qualifications and licenses
  • Investigate damage claims to improve work procedures and minimize equipment damage
  • Process maintenance-related invoices and audit invoices as required
  • Collaborate with Asset Management and Supply Services on asset strategies and RFP proposals
Requirements
  • Post-secondary certificate or degree in Mechanical, Maintenance, or Engineering is desirable
  • Strong mechanical background is required
  • Journeyman certification in maintenance of road or off-road equipment is desirable
  • Minimum 5 years of management or supervisor experience in maintenance of equipment
  • Understanding of intermodal operations or trucking logistics is desirable
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SAP, Oasis, TMS, and PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with commercial vehicle inspection regulations and standard maintenance procedures of heavy equipment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
