Job Title: Financial Analyst

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Analyst to join our team at Woodbine Entertainment Group. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for providing financial analysis and reporting to support business decisions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform daily audits for all hospitality locations and reconcile each server's daily package to ensure accurate reporting of sales and payments.
  • Prepare monthly inventory and contribution margin analysis.
  • Calculate the monthly merchandise cost using Yellow Dog Inventory system.
  • Prepare and distribute the preliminary and final merchandise cost reports and outlet reports for all hospitality locations.
  • Prepare month end journal entries related to Hospitality, Retail and Sponsorship business.
  • Prepare and distribute the Gaming Partner monthly invoices for Woodbine and Mohawk with sufficient documentation and supporting calculations.
  • Perform month end variance analysis on departmental P&L.
  • Participate in the annual Hospitality, Gift Shop and Sponsorship budget process.
  • Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations.
Requirements:
  • Advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of accounting software, preferably Microsoft Dynamics 365.
  • Solid knowledge of accounting, inventory, and costing principles.
  • Ability to work on multiple deliverables and to effectively prioritize tasks to meet deadlines with limited supervision.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to maintain and influence internal and external relationships.
  • Strong initiative, investigative, and analytical skills.
Education and Experience:
  • Post Secondary education in Accounting or Business.
  • Experience in the hospitality industry would be an asset.
Working Conditions:

This position currently has the option of working hybrid between the Woodbine Racetrack office and home. Normal office environment where there is little physical discomfort due to temperature, dust, noise and the like.
